It was a tough battle for Clay Center tonight; but they hang in there and hold on for a 40-37 win over Santa Fe Trail. Sydney Crimmins led Clay Center with 16 points, 6 rebounds...AND Nine blocked shots! Anne Martin scored 12 and Chelsea James knocked in 7 with 6 rebounds. Clay Center will play in the semi finals Thursday night in Topeka.

Tonight on KCLY it's the Clay Center Lady Tigers hosting Santa Fe Trail; tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. Also playing tonight in this girls sub state is Wamego at Concordia; Abilene hosts Hayden and Chapman goes to Silver Lake; the boys in 4A play tomorrow. In 3A the boys play tonight; Riley County will travel to Osage City; Marysville will play at Sabetha and Minneapolis plays Ellsworth in both boys and girls tonight. Tonight in 2A the court belongs to the girls; Washington County is hosting Wathena while Valley Heights will be at home against Doniphan West. The 1A Sub States will start Thursday and Friday. All of the sub state tournament championship games will be played this coming Saturday.

Ty Kolterman lost a 2-0 decision in overtime; Rusty Yarrow lost a 6-5 in a back and forth battle; these losses end the season for the two Tiger Sophomores who made their second straight trip to state. Jayde Kolterman Won a Double Overtime match 3-1 and is headed to the Consolation Semifinal and is guaranteed a medal at state! Friday night the Clay Center Tigers open up league play on the road at Marysville; pregame is at 6:00 p.m. Saturday morning we bring you coverage of the Tiger Wrestling Invitational from the Tiger's Den. Reports at the top of each hour beginning at 9 a.m. The finals round will be heard live! I will be on hand early in the day with Phil Kasper and Michael Brownell; then Flip and Michael will take you through most of it as I head on the road to Maize South for more Tiger basketball.
